He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sunrise.
Eternity, William Blake
It’s so easy to be happy when you’re surrounded by great people.
This was one of those trips where everything went about as perfectly as they possibly could, and some. Grateful for the memories.
Guest Post: Ricky goes to Iceland – for a day.
Hello, I am Ricardo Camacho and I am all about traveling. Recently, I took a trip over to Iceland for a day. Before you ask, I work for an airline so I am afforded these awesome opportunities. Every time I have a few days off, and seemingly nothing to do, I take a trip somewhere neat and new. Iceland has been a place that has tickled my fancy for many a year, well one year, so I hopped on a plane at 8:50 pm Thursday 9/19, and went on my way to Iceland with no plans, no contacts, and a few ideas.
I arrived in Iceland at 6:30 am on 9/20 fully amped and ready to dominate. My for the day was to meet someone or several someone’s, and charge with those people or that person. Upon landing in Iceland, I had to figure out how to get into Reykjavik (the capital city), and I needed to take out money. Subsequently, I took out money, I bought a bus ticket, and away I went. The bus ride into Reykjavik was stunning. I had never seen a landscape like it in my life. The huge open tundra, the backdrop of the sky (cloudy with a little sunshine and blue peering through) and the mountains popping up made for truly breathtaking views.
I arrived in Reykjavik after about a 45 minute bus ride. I was a little overwhelmed by the trip up to this point so I walked around and looked for a place to stay. After a few minutes of walking, I found a hostel named “Backpackers” which was inviting enough. I went inside inquired about a room, and they told me I would have to come back later because no rooms were available at that moment. So I made my way to walk around the city a little more…
Stick around for part 2!
This is what life is all about. Impromptu trips to faraway places with no real plans — just charging for an adventure.
"Sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be."
Some people like to pay money for shrinks to hear them out.
I just go surfing.
Took a day off from the studio to get my mind right. Here’s a little glimpse of the adventure:
